Bulk media format
YPD and YPDA media for yeast are also available in bulk format with agar (700 g) or without agar (500 g).
YPD medium
YPD Medium is a blend of peptone, yeast extract, and dextrose in optimal proportions for routine subculture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This medium is available with or without agar premixed in the medium.
YPDA medium
YPDA is the same as YPD but with the addition of an adenine hemisulfate supplement to a final 1X concentration of 120 mg/L. The adenine supplement prevents yeast strains harboring ADE1 and ADE2 mutations (e.g., Y2HGold, AH109, and Y187) from turning pink/red after extended growth.
